Man’s Fall - Anabolic Steroids..!

It’s no secret that women outlive men and for good reason.

Mostly, it’s all in the genes and hormones. Women have two X chromosomes that act as a genetic safety net - in addition, women’s inbuilt high estrogens levels, interact with both genetic and environmental factors to shape better immune response.

By contrast, new studies show that high testosterone levels in males interact with genes in a way that damps the immune response.

Man’s Fall

Body builders on steroids (synthetic testosterone) face serious risks. These include: enlarged prostate, acne, sleep apnea, mood swings (roid rage), breast enlargement (gynaecomastia), shrinking testicles, diminished libido, erectile dysfunction, thicker blood (strokes), and increased risk of heart disease. Many also suffer from hair thinning and balding which can be distressing.

So why do some men use steroids, trading health for muscle? They admire big muscles on other men and assume women do too. But that’s rarely true. Most women prefer a fit, toned body - not overly bulky arms.

A “Put-off”

Overly bulky men can become self-absorbed - can turn confrontational at times to prove themselves - exhibit unnatural gait due to several factors, including heavy lifting and “bubble gut” - otherwise known as a distended abdomen due to prolonged use of steroids and eating large quantities of food.

Take home lesson

The risks aren’t worth it. With the right training and nutrition, you can build strength safely and look great - without harming your health.
