Movement is Life!

Movement is Life!

Most of us have read about the famous movements - the Anti-Apartheid, Gay Rights, and Environment Protection movements, for instance  - all of which have much improved our world in terms of better quality of life, provision of justice and promotion of human rights.

Other defining movements like “Black Lives Matter” and “MeToo” have also reshaped society in powerful ways.

None of these would have succeeded without people physically moving - from place to place - voicing their views fearlessly, standing up for their beliefs and values, thereby driving beneficial, social, political and economic changes.

The same holds true to our wellbeing and the stark way of putting it is to say: - if you are not moving you are dying. You cannot live life without movement. You have to move and stretch the cell, because when you move and stretch the cell you facilitate the delivery of nutrients and you facilitate the removal of toxins as well.

Consistent physical activity extends your health span, the number of years you live without significant disability - by improving your overall quality of life.

And here’s the truth: you need not to be a marathoner to get health benefits from exercise. It doesn’t really matter what you do - so long as you just get off the couch and do something!
