A Non-Acidic Truth

A Non-Acidic Truth

Home water ionisers have gained popularity, thanks to the wellness industry’s growing influence and the many alleged claims of health miracles they promise.

Truth be told - if you are an alkaline water enthusiast, go ahead and have it between meals. It will hydrate your body better than non-alkalised water.

But having alkalised water of pH 8 or more, or even a carbonated drink with a meal can momentarily neutralize some of your stomach acid and slow digestion - until a built-in feedback mechanism triggers the release of more hydrochloric acid to restore the stomach’s natural acidic balance.

Hydrochloric acid maintains a pH of 1.5 - 2.5 in the stomach - a vital range for breaking down food into smaller components that the body can absorb into the blood stream. It also destroys harmful microbes and enables absorption of essential nutrients like vitamin B12, iron, and calcium.

In essence, it’s about the ratio and strength of the mix that ensures 100% efficiency — much like the precise water-to-cement ratio (0.60–0.70) required for strong, lasting masonry.

And by the way… there’s no credible scientific evidence that alkaline water prevents or treats cancer.

It’s largely non-medical hogwash and misinformation circulating online without any proven study other than some reports influenced by pharmaceutical kickback to coerce people into believing otherwise.
