Word “DIET” - a put off..!
Your diet is nearly 75% of the battle when it comes to health and longevity.
Why 75%? Because as important as it is, exercise only provides a stimulus for eliciting the response of muscle strength, size, endurance and performance. The real story - the one that shapes physiology, metabolic health, mental health, and long-term vitality - is “nutrition”.
Nutrition determines the quality of your life. “You are what you eat” isn’t just a saying; it's scientific reality. Proper nutrition drives positive adaptation in everything you do - training, learning, creating, performing, even ageing well.
Nutrition isn’t only about preventing heart disease, cancer or diabetes. It affects mood, brain function, immunity, allergies, asthma, arthritis, and even conditions like fibromyalgia and hypoglycaemia.
Yet many people struggle to get on the right track simply because of one word: diet. After decades of fad diets and false promises, the word typically carries the connotation of suffering, deprivation and starvation.
Therefore it’s time to change the language. Replace “diet” with Nutrition - that encompasses foods, nutrients, how much and when; and then you find out that it doesn’t take the iron discipline and self-sacrifice of a Tibetan monk to diet.
